What to do in Barcelonnette?

During your stay at the Hôtel de la Placette, many activities are available to you. For example, you can perfect your swing at the Golf du Bois Chenu, 5 minutes from your accommodation. Visit the Valley Museum, which traces the history of the Ubaye Valley, its migrations, and Barcelonnette, whose Mexican heritage is still perfectly visible in the architecture.

At the foot of the stations

When staying in our hotel in Barcelonnette, you are 5 km from the Sauze resort, 10 km from Pra Loup , and 15 km from Sainte-Anne la Condamine . A shuttle is available to take you to these stations. Around the Hôtel de la Placette, there are more than 280 km of slopes available to you! Enough to satisfy skiers, walkers, sledding enthusiasts, and to try many other activities!

The 7 passes of the Southern Alps

The Southern Alps are dominated by 7 passes, adored by cyclists and bikers. The passes of La Bonette-Restefond, of Sainte-Anne, of Vars, of Fillys, of Pontis, La Cayolle and Allos have been trodden by Tour de France riders many times! These roads are a true paradise. The tourist offices offer a passport to be validated at the top of each pass: will you obtain your Brevet des 7 cols?

The Serre-Ponçon Lake

Sportsmen, thrill seekers, swimmers or walkers, the Serre-Ponçon Lake is a must-see place for activities. Young and old alike will surely find something to keep them busy during their stay in the Ubaye Valley. The largest artificial lake in France is just 45km from your charming hotel in Barcelonnette ! 

White water sports
